Number One Airedale Fan

President Teddy Roosevelt once declared the Airedale “can do anything any other dog can do, then lick the other dog if he has to.” The largest of all terriers, the breed is also called Bingley Terrier and Waterside Terrier. It originated in a valley (dale) in the West Riding area of Yorkshire and was bred by working-class people.

The nonprofit Universal K9 of San Antonio, Texas, work with shelters to take dogs with high energy and prey drive that might be euthanized and train them for work with law enforcement and veterans.

Andy Cohen’s beagle-foxhound mix Wacha is named after St. Louis Cardinals’ pitcher Michael Wacha.

According to trainer Inger Martens, it may be a bad idea to say, “Do you want to go for a walk,” because sometimes phrases like this cause chaos and craziness in a dog before the walk has even started. Suggestion: Pull on a leash slightly before a walk starts and guide your dog around the house a little first before going outside.
