Redo for San Jose’s Selma Olinder Dog Park

Things are looking up for the at San Jose’s Selma Olinder Dog Park.

Beneful, the dog-food brand company, donated $20,000 to San Jose’s Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department in November to improve the park as part of Beneful’s countrywide program, the Dream Dog Park Project, according to a company news release. The project so far has spruced up 15 dog parks nationwide in six years.

Beneful brand manager James Sun was on hand Nov. 4 to present an oversized check to PRNS Director Angel Rios Jr., and they helped volunteers spread wood chips around the grounds and apply new paint to benches and tables at the dog park. Beneful is also donating a cute dachshund-shaped agility tunnel—the Beneful Doxie Tunnel—for the area of the dog park reserved for small dogs.

Beneful has been working on building better dog parks in an effort to strengthen the human-dog bond from coast to coast.
