Guide Dogs for the Blind’s Graduation Ceremonies. Sat., Feb. 2 and 16, 1:30 p.m. Guide Dogs for the Blind California Campus, 350 Los Ranchitos Road, San Rafael. Honor the independence and companionship that GDB’s exceptional guide dogs provide for the people they will serve. These services also allow GDB clients to meet the committed puppy raisers who cared for their canine heroes until they were old enough to begin formal training at GDB’s campus. Show up 20-30 minutes before graduations. Graduation day public tours of the campus are offered at 10:30 a.m. or noon on the days of the ceremonies. Pre-registered bus groups are also welcome. Closing Night Celebration Party — SF SPCA, More Than a Cone, Wag! Wed., Feb. 13, 5-8 p.m., One Embarcadero Center, SF. Attend the closing event celebration party for the San Francisco SPCA’s Pop Up & Cat Cafe at One Embarcadero Center. It’s an indoor jungle featuring puppy and kitten cuddles, food and wine, and an art auction, including works by The Obanoth and other artists. It’s the culmination of the month-long series of cuddles where adoptable animals inspire deeper human connections with the animal kingdom. February Visitor Day at Rancho Compasión. Sat., Feb.9, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Rancho Compasión Sanctuary (Private Residence), Nicasio. Learn about and meet rescued farm animals at Rancho Compasión, which provides a forever home to cows, pigs, turkeys, goats, sheep, chickens, donkeys, ducks, and more. Every second Saturday of the month (rain or shine), Rancho Compasión opens its doors to visitors ages 10 and older. Ticket are $20 per person. Ticket sales end at 5 p.m. the night before the event and may sell out, so purchase yours early. Arrive 15 minutes prior to tour start time to allow time for check in and parking.

San Francisco: Still Wild at Heart. Sat, Feb. 9, 7-9 p.m., Native Animal Rescue of Santa Cruz County, Santa Cruz. This film by Melissa Peabody tells the story of the return of coyotes to San Francisco and other American cities. Scientists offer insights into how wild coyotes impact city ecosystems, how to coexist with them, and why humans should. Through beautiful footage of coyotes and other wild creatures — quail, foxes, raccoons, herons, opossums, and parrots — learn how animals survive and thrive in the challenging habitat of the modern American City. Camilla Fox, founder of Project Coyote, talks and answers questions after the screening. Tickets are $10-$25.

SCTW’s Mardi Paws Bunco Night, Bark’n & Beads! Fri., Feb. 8, 6-9 p.m., Old City Hall Restaurant, 7400 Monterey Road, Gilroy. Join South County Tail Waggers for the Second Annual Bunco event at Old City Hall. Enjoy a night of bunco, complimentary heavy appetizers, refreshments, desserts, and a no-host bar. Swing Into Action Fundraiser for Orangutans. Sat., Feb. 2, 3-7 p.m., Beaumont Farms, 5580 Red Hill Road, Petaluma. Help the Sumatran Orangutan Society purchase a defunct palm oil plantation and transform the land to a rainforest to create a forest home for displaced orangutans. This is a special afternoon with a presentation about orangutan conservation by wildlife photographer Suzi Eszterhas, live music by The 2 of Us, silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer, and more. Tickets are $100.
